INVISIBLE INVISIBLEHave you ever been in a group of people and felt invisible? Almost every time you try to join in the conversation, your voice is drowned out and it feels like you don’t matter. Or, multiple conversations are going on and you’re not part of any of them. Maybe a group is being given recognition, and even though you’re part of the group, your name is left out. I have – many times. I have a soft voice and so it is very easy for me to be drowned out by other voices. Most of the time I don’t mind but there are times when it makes me feel lonely even though I am in a crowd! It happened to me this week and as I stopped to think about it I realized that this must be how God feels – only a million times worse.God’s voice should be the loudest and most important voice in any conversation but it isn’t. He chooses to speak to us through that “still small voice” of the Holy Spirit. He speaks to us through creation, through children, and in a million other ways but His voice is often ignored and other voices overpower His. He does not seem to be too bothered by it so neither should I. Instead, just as He speaks to people in many different ways, I can do the same. He speaks through the power of nature. He speaks through the magnificent beauty of nature. He speaks through the laughter of a baby. He speaks through a hug or a smile. He speaks through acts of kindness. Sometimes we don’t realize He spoke to us until later but we eventually see His hand and hear His voice and realize how powerful it is. So, I decided that it was silly to let this bother me and I need to be content (as God is) to be seen and heard in other ways that last much longer than my words. A simple act of kindness is remembered for a lifetime whereas, and opinion in a group discussion, is usually forgotten before everyone even goes home! The act of kindness is usually not shouting – it is quiet, still, small but it’s power is unending. So, instead of feeling alone in a crowd, just smile and remember that you are in the company of the King of Kings, the God and Father of all, and the Spirit of the Living God. They are not shouting – they are simply waiting for one heart to hear them. How much better can it get?——Fleda Check out more articles on the blog… Books 4 Creative Writing 1 Faith & Friendship 10 Faith & Loss 16 Faith & the Physical Body 8 Faith Action 11 Faith Over Fear 2 Growing in Faith 7 Hope-Faith-Trust 18 Lifestyle of Faith 21 Prayer of Faith 18 The "How-Tos" 5 The 5s 5 The Lanyap Life 1 Value-Peace-Joy 10 Value-Peace-JoyGuest UserMay 29, 20172 Comments Facebook0 Twitter LinkedIn0 Pinterest0 0 Likes
